About the Trainer: Evan Wirth

I was not a natural athlete. In fact, whenever I tried to get involved in sports at a younger age, it never seemed to work for me. I never got the right coaching to see myself improve. It was only through a lot of trial and error on my own in the gym that I reached the point where I can today consider myself an athlete. I competed in my first powerlifting competition at the age of 30 and have devoted my time and resources to helping myself and my clients get strong with the most efficient training.

I strive to be the coach that I never had for my clients. I’ll meet you where you’re at and actively problem-solve with you in ways that are completely individualized. I’ll guide you towards the most effective uses of your time in terms of training and other relevant lifestyle changes so that you don’t have to spend years figuring it out like I did.

I know that, even if it seems like you’ve never been good at anything when it comes to sports or fitness, you have more potential than you realize. I’ve been in that same place myself. From the inexperienced to the moderately experienced to the well-experienced athlete looking to optimize themselves, I have an approach that will work to bring you to the next step as safely and efficiently as possible.

When it comes to motivation, I’ve faced those struggles and can empathize and meet you where you’re at. I had a late diagnosis of ADHD and have struggled in the same way with many things myself, so I’m confident I can use my experience to help you.

I’ve been certified and working as a trainer for 6 years with a diverse set of clients. I started in a big commercial gym where I had experience training people of all ages and levels of experience and with a diverse set of challenges. I am certified by ACE with specializations in corrective exercise, behavioural coaching, and nutrition. In experience, I’ve also specialized in training people from having never touched a barbell before to be proficient and strong in exercises such as the barbell squat, deadlift, bench press, and overhead press. I also have a unique educational background, having completed an Associate of Arts degree in Applied Ethics from Capilano University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Simon Fraser University.
